Stephen Green

Stephen Green is the Principal Consultant of Lamiel, an ICT consulting firm based in Melbourne, Victoria. With over 25 years of experience in enterprise data and solution architecture, Stephen specialises in helping government agencies and large enterprises make better decisions about their data — how it's structured, governed, and used.

Stephen's career spans some of Australia's most complex and high-stakes technology environments, including Tier 1 banking at NAB and ANZ, the higher education sector through the University of Tasmania and the Council of Australian University Directors of IT (CAUDIT), and multi-client consulting through LAB3/Lumen.

His work at ANZ included designing the VISUAL cheque image capture system — a repository of over one billion cheque images — and developing the data model for ANZ's New Payments Platform (NPP) implementation. At NAB, he designed multi-cloud data architecture patterns to support the bank's major Azure migration program.

At the University of Tasmania, Stephen established the Enterprise Architecture practice from scratch, implemented LeanIX as the EA platform, and developed the university's enterprise data model. He also co-developed the MortarCAPS Data Standard with CAUDIT — a shared higher education data standard adopted across Australian universities.

Stephen works directly with senior stakeholders — CIOs, Data Officers, and procurement leads — to deliver practical, implementable architecture outcomes. He operates as a sole practitioner, meaning clients engage directly with the expert at every stage of the engagement.
